Harry Gorin’s Home Movies

These are Harry Gorin’s home movies, taken from the early 1950’s and spanning perhaps a dozen years. The 3-minute 8 mm films were collected on VHS, and then played for Harry and Esther in the 1980’s. Their narration was captured on audiotape and that was merged with the VHS to produce this version.

Thanks to a lot of work by my brother Allen, we are now able to share it with you. It’s still a work in progress, but hopefully you can open it.

It contains wonderful memories of our grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins on both the Smagorinsky and Bornstein sides of the family.

Some family members get a lot of air time, others just a glimpse, some not at all. It’s a collection of family visits, birthday parties, vacations, Bornstein Cousin Club meetings, and just daily life. Who gets in the picture depends totally on where the camera was pointed.

I hope you can open it and will share with others in our huge extended family.
